Star Struck

So guess who came to Nauvoo???? David Archuleta!!! That's right, the American Idol star from Utah came to Nauvoo last night to take pictures with me! (ok...maybe that wasn't his only reason.)
He is on tour around Missouri and he wanted to make a stop in Nauvoo to go through the temple and see the pageant. As it turns out there is a couple of artists staying at the Willard Richard's Inn with us and they told him that if he came up to the art gallery after the pageant they would give him some of their art work. (oh to be famous...) We just happened to be up at the art gallery after the pageant last night too and we had a little midnight party with David Archuleta and some of the core cast of the pageant who had followed him up.

Besides being an amazing singer, he is really nice too. He seemed a little embarassed with all the attention that he was getting but was still really willing to talk to everyone (maybe the free artwork had something to do with that. And the fact that I was there. haha j/k)I've always been a big fan of David. Although I like American Idol, I've never been an avid follower. Except for last season with David. Me and Amy became big fans and got so into it. I watched every episode even voted a couple of times. His voice is incredible!! And he's from Utah. What's not to love? Me and Amy actually even went to Salt Lake to join in on his big party during the last episode. (I still think he should have won!) We were surrounded by a bunch of 14 year old girls. Both me and Amy look young and we had a lady take our picture while we where there and she thought we went to school with David. (I don't look that young do I?) I still isten to his CD all time. What can I say? He's incredible! And I met him!!

Killer Geese

This week I was attacked. Seriously. I went out for a run in the morning and I was attacked by a flock of geese! It sounds really lame, but it really was scary!

So here's the story. I was running along by the river, looking at the water and the lily pads and the rabbits (I swear I'm in the middle of the forest). I turned a corner and I saw a whole huge flock of geese crossing the road. There were about 6 adults and a ton of babies. I slowed down to watch them cross and started thinking of lame funny jokes about why the goose crossed the road.

When they had all crossed I ran past them, still looking at all them out of the corner of my eye. I didn't see one little baby still on the other side of the road. All the sudden 3 of the adults started chasing after me, flapping their wings, and honking like crazy. I was so scared and started sprinting like crazy to get away from them. In the process of running away from the adults I realized that I was chasing the baby down the road and making the adults even more mad at me!

I finally got around the baby and away from the crazy honking scary geese, but my heart was beating so fast and I was so scared! Now whenever I go down that road I think, "This is where those killer geese live!"

Old Time Photos

Me and my roomies Michelle and Lara had our pictures taken - old school style! Our friend Mike has a photography shop right next to our shack. He dressed us up in old pioneer dresses and started snapping pictures. It was so fun! Here are the finished products. Although they make me look really short, I think they turned out really cute. :)

We look so serious in this one - very authentic.

That's what we started with, here's how we got there. I think my dress in color looked really cute. Plus, I'm kind of a fan of the hoop skirts. Maybe they'll come back in style....then again maybe not. :)

Lara and Michelle in color - cute!
What a fun day!
