Old Time Photos

Me and my roomies Michelle and Lara had our pictures taken - old school style! Our friend Mike has a photography shop right next to our shack. He dressed us up in old pioneer dresses and started snapping pictures. It was so fun! Here are the finished products. Although they make me look really short, I think they turned out really cute. :)

We look so serious in this one - very authentic.

That's what we started with, here's how we got there. I think my dress in color looked really cute. Plus, I'm kind of a fan of the hoop skirts. Maybe they'll come back in style....then again maybe not. :)

Lara and Michelle in color - cute!
What a fun day!

Livin' in the Inn

We lucked out SO much by living in the Willard Richards Inn. It's really old and elegant. And so close to everything. I share a room with Michelle on the 2nd floor. There is even a porch in the back to porch-sit at night while we watch the fireflys!
Romeo, Romeo, Wherefore art thou Romeo?
(I don't think he's in Nauvoo...there's not many boys here. But a girl can dream...)

This is the little shack where we work. Doesn't this make you want to buy food storage? I think so! :)

Nauvoo the Beautiful

Welcome to Nauvoo! It's soooo pretty here! It took me a little while to get used to being out here. My friend has a two week rule that I think I'm going to adopt - she doesn't make any decisions about being in new situations until she's been there for at least two weeks. I think that's how I am too. But after being here for a little while, I'm really starting to like it a lot. There is a lot to see and a lot of history and a lot to take pictures of.

It is so lush and green here. I feel like I'm in the middle of the forest. I was watching the fireflys the other night (I love fireflys!) and two deer walked right across the yard. When I go running in the morning there are animals everywhere. :)

Check it out - its the Mississippi River! The sunset's on the Mississippi are incredible. I'll get some pics of those up soon.
